"Craft: the word can get a bad rap, but it can also speak to the highest level of quality and care."

Craft: the word can get a bad rap, but it can also speak to the highest level of quality and care. A master "hones" her craft. While I love all crafts from a crocheted afghan to fine Japanese ceramics, to hand-carved wood, textiles and anything involving fabric are my North star. They're what light me up creatively.

Handker came about almost accidentally in late 2018. I was on a sourcing trip to India when I walked into the screen-printing "factory" (more like a barn, really), and saw the designs I drew back in my rural hometown beautifully screen printed on fabric. My heart skipped a beat. This was my LOVE. Fabric, color, pattern. Shortly after, Handker was born and to this day, touching our super soft bandanas and playing with the scraps that our manufacturer graciously sends me from time to time still brings me so much joy! Lately, I've been creating quilts from the scraps...maybe someday that will turn into an official product!

We're so overjoyed to see you enjoying creating with our bandanas too. Embellishment, fashion, and home decor—we were blown away with your creativity! And we thought you'd like to see what we've gathered from Instagram too. Always feel free to tag us with what you're working on, and if you might be interested in a scrap bag, let us know. We could make that a product on the site as well! We're always here to encourage and connect about the joy of craft.
